Point of Care Dispensing Opportunities
Point of Care dispensing through the DispenseDoc program provides several revenue streams as you dispense medication to your patients.
Private Insurance
Reimbursement
The revenue stream under this opportunity comes in the form of insurance reimbursements through the Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBM). Patient eligibility is verified for against the practice’s designated formulary by DispenseDoc. The physician or medical office staff collects the required copay and the patient’s insurance is billed for the medications dispensed. Our software provides medication guidelines, prints labels for the medication and electronically sends reimbursement for the medications to the PBMs.
Patient Cash
& Carry
Cash and carry medication dispensing is the most common and this type of dispensing provides your patients with a convenient, confidential, and cost-effective alternative to fulfilling their prescriptions at the pharmacy. The patient pays the practice directly for the medications received; there is no need to adjudicate and bill the insurance carrier. On average, the pricing of the prepackaged meds dispensed to the patient is similar to the price they would pay at their local pharmacy.
Workman’s
Compensation
Workers’ compensation physicians are increasingly using point-of-care dispensing in their offices to their patients. Some pharmacies will not fill prescriptions until they have been pre-approved by the insurance company; however, POC dispensing eliminates this scenario. Our partnerships offer a seamless ability to dispense, bill and collect reimbursements for your Worker’s Compensation claims.
